ADELAIDE STEAMSHIP CO., ». BRYANT AND
ANOTHER. "**
This was a claim Cor ¿824, on an order
given to the Company by the defendants on
Mr. J. H. Monger for a passage in a steamer.
The order hod been dishonoured. Mr. Love*
grove appeared for the plaintiffs for whom
judgment was given.
M. HIGHAM & SONS r. JOHN AND JAKE
KERR.
This Was a claim for ¿631 8s. ld., for goods
sold and delivered. Mr. Macklin appeared
for the plaintiffs and Mr. Lovegrove repre-
sented the defendants. The claim Was fer
¿627 (la. 3¿d, the balance of an old store
account contracted in Nov. 23,1878, and the
balance of a renewed store account for ¿64
7s 9Jrd» contracted on Deo. 1837. Mrs. Kerr
admitted that the sum of ¿62 5s. 7d. was
owing and nothing moro. She denied having
a running account at the store of the defen-
der's siuoe 1882. Mr. Lovegrove contended
that the claim for ¿627 was barred by the
Statute of »Limitation, and the defendants
were not indebted for the other sam. Mr.
Fairbairn said that the fact that some of the
payments had been made was an acknowledg-
ment of the debt, therefore, he would have
te give judgment for the plaintiff for.the
amount with costs. Mr. Lovegreve asked for
au( order to make the payments ever a
lengthened period. Mr. Higham said that he
was quite agreeable to accept any reasonable
arrangement.

This was a claim for ¿617 12s. 2d., for
goods sold and delivered. Mr. Macklin ap*
peared for the plaintiff, for whom judgment
was given.
J. DOONAN V. ANDREW HANHAN.
This was a claim for ¿61 8s. 7d. for geode
sold and delivered. The defendant did not
appear, and judgment was given for the
plaintiff. i

amounts usually received for maiden literary
efforts, should afford its author every en»
couragement to further prosecute his literary
