REHABILITATION OF BRITAIN.

MELBOURNE, Nov. 30.— A warning
that manufacturers in Great Britain must
not expect for some time to sell to the
Commonwealth as many goods at they
bad sold m tne past was uttered by the
Senior British Trade Commissioner in Aus
tralia (Mr. R. W. Dalton), at a luncheon
given in his honour to-day by the Aus
tralian Association of British Manufac
turers. Mr. Dalton emphasised the rieed
for' the different parts of the Empire to
assist in the rehabilitation of Great Bri
tain, as their prosperity aad development
depended upon that country's extending
her trade and thus remaining in a posi
tion to lend them money. Mr. Dalton
returned to Melbourne by the Orama this
morning from a' visit to London.
