COUNTRY WOMEN.
Association Meetings.
Welbtingen Branch.
Mrs. Baracha, secretary ot tne newly
formed branch of the Country Women's
Association at Welbungen, reports that a
successful dance in aid of the hall fund
was held there on Katuraay, January vi.
The hall was prettily decorated by mem
bers, and music was supplied free of
charge by the- Welbungen orchestra. Com
petitions were held, and novelties were
sold at Sixpence each, to assist the C.WA
fund. Ice. creams and supper were pro
vided by the members. A vote of thanks
was passed to all helpers. At the last
meeting of this branch, it was decided to
make a share in the payment of the debt
on the hall the objective for this year.
Nungarin Branch.
Mrs. Hodges, secretary of the Nun
garin branch of the Country Women's As
sociation, reports that a dance was held
in November in aid of the children's
party, which, combined with a baby com
petition, was successful in realising £55.
The children of the district were given a
Christmas party in December. About
170 children were present. The babies
under 18 months each received a Teddy
Bear and ecah of the others was given
a bag of sweets and a story book. Some
little gifts suitable for boys or girls were
also presented. Visitors from Perth were
impressed with the general enthusiasm
of the children and success of the whole
entertainment.
Brookton Branch.
Mrs. O'Halloran, secretary of the Brook
ton branch of the Country Women's As
sociation, reports that a children's Christ
mas party was held in the Brookton hall
on December 21. All the children of the
district were entertained by the mem
bers of the C.W.A. The children of the
district schools contributed toward the
entertainment. Interesting competitions,
drawn up by Mrs. Hocking, were follow
ed by dancing. The tables at which ices
were served and supper provided were
bright and Ray, and paper hats were given
to the children. Mrs. Copley, president,
read a Christmas greeting from the State
president. Mrs. Fisher, and gave out the
prizes to the . successful competitors.
Votes of thanks were passed to Sir. and
Mrs. Hocking, Miss Plant, and Miss
O'Halloran for their services at the piano.
