MOTORISTS BEHANDED.
William Charles Maxwell (23), agent,:
whose motor cycle and sidecar outfit, was
involved in an accident which caused the
tram crew to 'leave the tram to obtain
particulars, and who was subsequently
charged with having ridde'h the machine
while He was under the' influence of liquor,
was remanded for eight days by Mr. A.
B. Kidson, Acting P.M., in the City Court
yesterday. Sergeant Houston said that
Maxwell was still in hospital.
A similar remand was granted in the
case of Allan Ruskin Ward (20), Bales
man, who, it was alleged, disobeyed the
signal of Constable Miller, when that
officer was controlling traffic on the
corner of Hay and King streets after the
tram smash. He was charged with having
driven recklessly and dangerously.
