PROTEST IN ^ CHURCH.
Outburst Against Clergy.
LONDON', Jan. 8.— A -man-seated be
hind a pillar, where he was difficult to
locate, interrupted the Eev. Tv Wellard
when he was entering the pulpit of Saint
-Faul's Cathedral this morning. 'In the
name of the Father, -and- of the- Soh'andJ
the people of England,' he said, 'I pro
test against ministers of the Church act
ing as Christian ministers', because thev i
are . accessories to most hellish wrongs
done in defiance of the laws, of God and
man, upon the people and the poor, by
ministers, judges, and law officers.'
Vergers asked the interjector to leave
the cathedral and a refusal was followed
by forcible ejection. . . .':?':
The man withheld, his name and :ad
tlresB, but promised to return. His grie
vance -was against the police, who, he said
arrested a poor man on false charges of
accepting ' bribes, in which, he declared,
ministers and magistrates had acquiesced.
