AN EXPLANATION.
To THE EDITOR.
SIR,-In your report in this morning's
paper of the burglary at Fremantle you
state that a watchman was employed on
the block. I am ? engaged on the block in
question, but was not at that time on the
premises where the burglary was committed.
I only write this in justice to
myself, as I have been employed by Messrs.
Slater and Wilson since the occurrence.
On that night I was present with Constable
Haslett and assisted to search the
premises, and was employed by Mr. Wilson
to watch the premises until morning. I
am now employed as night watchman for
Messrs. Slater and Wilson permanently.
Yours, etc,
JAMES BARRY, by
Night Watchman.
Fremantle, February 24.
