Mr. Colter's Position.
It is understood that ilr. EJ. H. CoC
ler resigned his posfrion in the civil ser
vice because he could not accept the
Chairmatvshin of the Food Council, which
body would have non-statutory powers
and authority. It is reported that Mr.
Coller is jijkftiy to take up an important
position witii Messrs. Lever Bros.
[According to the London 'Daily Ex
prosf^iMr. F. H. Collex, who was invited
by the Prime Minister to become the
chairman of the new Food Council, not
onCy- declined, bat resigned from the
civil service. Mr. Coller served in the
Ministry -of Pood 'from its inception in
1917 to its cessation in 1921. From 1921
to 1924 he was secretary of the food de
partment of the Board of Trade.]
