Borough Council.
The usual meeting of the Qneanbeyan
Borough Council was held in. the Council
Chambers on Thursday, evening last, when
there were present-Ald Pike (Mayor)
J. Pike, Dixie, Knox, Firth, Grady, and
Hincheinan. -
The minutes of the previous meeting were
read and confirmed.
CORRESPONDENCE.
The following correspondence was received
and dealt with :
! FromiA. Cornet, stating that she would at
tent-to'the dilapidated buildings in Macquoid
Street.
-From Cowra Council, asking co-operation
for. the movement of asking for the abolition
of postage on letters dealing with municipal
matters.-Resolved to co-operate with the
Cowra Council on the motion of Ald FIril.
From the Secretary of the Bush Brigade
asking the Council to solicit subscriptions
for the sending to Transvaal of the Bush
Brigade.-Ald PIKE moved that the Council
take no action. This was not seconded. Ald
IRiTH moved thrt the Mayor be asked to
convene a meeting to consider, the matter.
The motion was carried.
REPORTS.
Ald DIXIE read the Finance Com
mittee's report as under :

Accounts for piyment ,: 19 11
Lighting Account ''.. 1 6 11
Credit Parks Account ,. 8 1 0
Adopted.
The Works Committee were instructed to
inspect and report on repairs in Atkinson
Street.
Aid HINEKsMAN moved that the Mayor be
instructed to have the burrs removed from
the streets.-Carried.
Ald DIXIE urged . the repair of Railway
street. He moved that the-maintenance man
furnish an estimate of the. cost of forming
the street, frgqn} the . rail 'ay gates, over the
overhead bridgo, to the river -
Aid KNox seconded -the. motion The 'ost
would not be more than £20.
The motion was carried.
The Works Committee were requested -to
report on Campbell Street at next -meeting.
COMMONS MEETING 7
The Mayor thought it wouldi be quite
tficiset to hold a meeting once a -month
instead of fortnightly.
The meeting showed that the annxua meet
ing of commoners was held on Tuesday.
The auditors asked for an honorarium for
extra work done. in auditing the, commons.

The finance report showed a credit of
£7 16s 3d: Accounts amounting to £1 2s
were passed for payment.
The herdsman was rut on at full time for
one month.'
