Tn the 'New Sonth Wales Legislative
Assembly to-night, a BUI to ratify an
agreement between- the Commonwealth
and the State for the collection of taxes
by one authority was introduced by the'
Treasurer. (Sir Arthur 'Cocks), and was
read a first time.
The Child AVelfare Bill, which was
dropped last session owing to opposition
to two clauses, wa.s read a second time,
all parties giving it sympathetic consider
ation
.It has been decided that the Budget
will be presented on Tuesday. So far
as can be ascertained there will be no
new taxation, but it is bttlievetl that tlto
incidence of taxation on incomes will be
on the same scale as last year. Tomor
row night the Liquor Bill will be intro
duced. It is expected that this measure
will have a rough passage.
