No Celebrations In Moscow
NEW YORK, December 25.
The Moscow correspondent of the
"New York Times" says there was no
observance of Christmas in Moscow
this year, save for the private celebra-
tions of foreign diplomats and techni
cians. Not one church bell rang out.
The conversion of Churches to secular
use has gone on apace in the past year,
one after another having become a
club, cinema, or a warehouse. '- The
only sign of Christmas on the streets
was the sale of tinsel and a few small
fir trees in the public markets.
