Value of Early Lambs
Mr. H. J. Copley, a member of the
Meat Export Board, said yesterday that
this cable confirmed the report of
the South Australian Trade Commis-
sioner (Mr. C: P. J. McCann) that the i
shipments of lambs from the Argen
tine would be exceptionally heavy this
year.
"We have the advantage in this State
of being able to moduce early lambs.",
added . Mr. Cootey. "and breeders
should concentrate on getting their
lambs to the market as early as pos
sible, go that the hlgb prices, which
invariably rule In the London market
during August. September, and Octo
ber, can be obtained. This can be
done by the conservation of fodder
and planting of fodder crops, such as
barley and oats, for feeding the ewes
if the season opens late."
