"EYE'S TREASURY"
A CHAT WITH MRS. REID.
"Eve's Treasury," a Berlel revue, is
to be held at the Prince of "Wales The-
atre on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
and Friday afternoons next. A repre-
sentative of "The Mercury" yesterday
had an interview with Mrs. Reid, who
directs the revue.
Mrs. Reid ls an Australian, who has
mado a profession of a fascinating '
study, that of beauty, and has been en-
trusted with the staging of this Berlel
revue, showing the charm of lines-a
charm without which no woman can be
truly termed "beautiful."
"I have nothing against sport," de-
clared Mrs. Reid, herself a tall, grace-
ful woman. "It ls an aid to health,
and, therefore, grace, but I do say that
because you are a sports' woman ts no
reason why you should let your figuro
go. Tho bad old-age of corsets, hap-
pily, has quite gone-never, I think, to
return-but that does not mean you
should wear no controlling garment at
all. If you wish to have good lines, a
'graceful, well proportioned figure, you
simply must wear a Berlel. Call lt cor-
set if you will, but it really has nothing
In common with the old vicious corsets,
like street fences, that pressed your vital
organs within and down. Tho Berlel
follows Nature's lines, and supports
only, but this helpful and easy support
prevents that ugly square spread at tho
hips that so many .women get, especially
as they get older or take up strenuous
sport
"What will my show be like? Well, lt
will not be a mere mannequin parade. It
ls really a dainty little play In three
acts, featuring 'The Garden of Dreams,'
'The Vale of Health,' and 'The Cloak of
Fashion." There will be a musical In-
terlude, when Madam Lucy Atkins will
sing 'Trees' and 'Snowflakes,' and there
will be a Berlel beauty ballet I trust
to see that the Hobart women will take
full advantage of the knowledge of
charm of line- to be gained by seeing
'Eve's Treasury."*
