INSOLVENT COURT.
WEDNESDAY, 14TH APRIL.
The business of the court was concluded before 12
o'clock, although there were several cases entered on the
paper. The first three, M'Leod, Ries, and Masters, were
first meeting of creditors, and as none appeared to oppose
in M'Leod's, not even to prove debts, the insolvents will
be entitled to their discharge, if still unopposed at the
next meeting. In the case of William Groves some little
delay took place, in consequence of the absence of the
permanent assignee; it was at length determined to defer
the meeting for a fortnight, as some opposition was contemplated,
the Commissioner observing that sufficient
cause for postponement had appeared on the insolvent's
first examination ; if, however, no opposition should be
then offered, an order of discharge would be granted.
