THE TASMANIAN TROTTING ASSO-
CIATION.
At the last meeting of tho Trotting
Association the business following was
transacted:- ... ,
Tho report of tho stipendiary steward
on tho meetings at Ascot on July 3 and
10 were read and noted.
The Victorian Trotting Association and
the W.A, Trotting Association forwarded
tho lists of horses registered for June.
Messrs. Finlay, "Watchorn, and Clark
forwarded their opinion and reasons why
the association had no power to proceed
further In the Mallee King case.
Messrs. J. Thompson and S. S. Scho-
field notified tho death of tho registered
horses Avlona and Robinwood.

A letter from the Hon. tho Attorney
General asked for comment on the state-
ments made in a mainland publication,
together with tho registrar's reply, was
read and discussed. Mr. Foster moved,
and Mr. Cranston seconded-"'That an
inquiry be held on August 8 into thc
charges as alleged." "
Messrs. C. Willing. G. Cranston, J. W.
Foster, and J. T. Weaver were appointed
to meet th« Northern Trotting Asser-
tion, with tile view of amending the rule*
for handicapping on the lines suggested.
Mr. Gibson's motion In re allowing a
reporter to bo present at meetings lapsed
from lack of a seconder.
