RHODESIAN TOBACCO
Outlet in Australia
Preference Arrangement
CAPETOWN, November 12.
"The collapse of the Customs. Confer-
ence, resulting in Rhodesia withdraw-
ing from the Customs Union, ls a great
shock," said the Premier of Southern
Rhodesia (Mr. H. W. Moffat), speaking
at Bulawayo to-day. "But," he added,
"lt is just as well that no attempt to
reopen the negotiations has been made.
Rhodesia has no right to grumble."
Mr. Moffat hopes that, so far as to-
bacco is concerned, that he will be able
to make an arrangement with Australia
by which to give to Australia the pre-
ference hitherto enjoyed by South
Africa. He prophesied that Walflsh
Bay would be the future port for North-
ern and Southern Rhodesia. He urged
the production of high-grade cattle for
export by way of Walflsh Bay, which
iß in fee chilled zone.
