CAPA BLANCA DEFEATED.

MOSCOW, November 25.
Two Russians, Verlingsky and Iljlnzev
eresky, have beaten the world-famous
chess player, Capa Blanca, the Interna-
tional chess tournament champion, who
hid an unusual number of drawn Barnes.

LONDON, November 20.
Terrible north-easterly gales, with hurri-
cane wind and heavy falls of snow, pre-
vailed on the East Coast of England yes-
terday. A Scottish drifter foundered off
Hamborough Head, ofter it had struck
mother vessel. A lifeboat put out, but
failed to save any of the crew. Eight
others were drowned at Redcar, on the
(Yorkshire coast, where the heavy seas
drove u ¡¡mull motor-ship on to the rocks
.in the sight of s big crowd of people on
'ehorc.
Numerous other casualties are reported.
