OPENING OP CAMPAIGN.
Tac first meeting of the OTgau laing
committee of the "Made in Australia"
campaign waa held1 last nljrfct, when tho
following members were present:
Messrs. H. Lawrence (chairman). Alder-
men NotUefold, H. "W. Wilson, H. Smith
(Citizens' Committee), W. E. C Jarvis,
Colonel O. L. Olden, and H. J. DevidsoA
(AÍNA.). Mr. Geo. Collis «aa appointed
organ icing secretary, and Mr. H. W.
Wilson campaign treasurer.
The secretary reported that a large
parcel of posters would arrive by the
s.s. Riverina from the "Made in Aus-
tralia Council," to .be distributed to
business firma within the next few days.
The Chairman reported that tho Direc-
tor of Education (Mr. Broda) was ar-
ranging an essay for all schools in Ho-
bart, the acholan to write an essay on
"Why Should I Buy Australian-made
Goods." It was ifulled that a prise be
given for the beat essay in each school.
The next meeting of UM committee wai
fixed for Thursday, July lfl, m the Breen
tire-chambers. Public Buildings, when all
sub-commrUee? will be formed and a full
programme arranged.
