S. AUSTRALIAN
ELECTION MAY
BE CLOSE
ADELAIDE, Thursday.
After nearly twenty years in
the political wilderness, the South
Australian Labour Party is making
a lively bid to unseat the
Playford Liberal government at
the State election on Saturday.
Despite Labour confidence
about its chances of victory,
which spring from Labour successes
in other States, another
victory for the Playford Government
seems likely, but the vot-
ing may be close.
Labour will have to win east
seats from the Liberal forces to
win the Elections feat it has
never achieved since electoral
boundaries were redistributed in
1938.
