COBS Haskkt.—Messrs. Barry b i-hiUipscm,
wheat brokers, report that, although no huge
quantities of wheat and Hour have changed
hands during the week, there has been a good
enquiry, and the market haa hardened consider
ably. Some few purchases of wheat have been
made at ss. 94. to ss. 101 per bushel; but
reaUy prime ff.?ppTf could not be obtained un
less at an advance npon these rales, and for the
moment buyers are not willing to give more.
The maikets in Victoria are much firmer, and
prices have risen there; but the mug— be
tween their prices snd ours is not sufficient for
them to send triers, ortoi- duce our shippers to
consign. Either their j rices will have to be
increased or ours diminished, and according
to our judgment it is more likely to be the
former fan the latter, for holders here were
never so firm, nor the quantity held so small.
There have been aales of country flour at 127.
10s. per ton. bat for most country brands 132.
is awed, and for town brands 131. 10-.to 131. 15_.

telegraph to the other colonies, are reported at

and is worth lid. per bushel, and not many
sellers. Pollard is exceedingly scarce, and
worth about Is. 31. to Is. 41 per bushel. Cape
barley is also enquired for at 3s. to 3s. 91 per
bushel; Scotch and English, 3*. 91 to sa, and
good malting camples are wanted. Ia oats
there have bsen no transactions. The quota
