CYCLIST KILLED
IN COLLISION AT
NARABUNDAH
John Thomas Weaver, aged 20,
of twenty-first Street, Narra-
bundah, was killed instantly last
night when a motor-cycle he was
riding was involved in a collision
with a car.
Following the accident, a 42
year-old labourer was charged at
Canberra Police Station with
having driven a motor vehicle
while under the influence of
liquor. He was released on £30
bail to appear at the Canberra
Court on November 3.
The accident occurred near the
intersection of Twenty-first
Street and Kootara Crescent,
Narrabundah, about 6.30 p.m.
A bystander who witnessed the
collision notified police and the
ambulance.
It is believed that the youth
died from a broken neck when
he fell from the cycle.
The A.C.T. Coroner, Mr. F. C.
P. Keane, has ordered a post
mortem, and an inquest will be
held.
Sergeant H. F. Luton, of Can-
berra Police, is in charge of in-
vestigations.
