CRICKET MATCH.
A match was played at Brighton between
eleven of the youths of Brighton and the same
number of the Nationals, in which the latter
were the victors by 72 runs, their play proving
too powerful for their opponents. In the first
innings Wadham contributed 15 runs, and
Bonney 19 towards the score for the Nationals,
whilst the highest scorer for the other aide was
Rose, who made nine runs. Hawkes, D.
Biley, Dollman, and Mackie distinguished
themselves in the second innings by making 14,
11,13 (not out), and 10 runs respectively ; and
Eckersly and Brown scored well for 16 and 11
runs for the Brighton?. Messrs. Dollman and
Jenkins, Brown and Robinson, acted as cap
tains and umpires for the Nationals and the
Brighton Clubs.
