MINING INTELLIGENCE.
PRINCE ALFRED.—Captain Bryant, writing
on April 2, says:—''l have Bent away 14
tons of ore during the week. I should have
sent six tons more but for wet weather, which
stopped some drays from coming in. .--li tl«
stopes axe taming out ore about too same *s
before. The bottom part of the main stope is
looking particularly good. The upper part cf
these stopes has been connected with th r?e ar
No. 4 Shaft The lode is carrying good ore all
the way. I have fixed a horse-whip on the
main stopes, and shall fix one on i\o. 4 shaft,
to save expense of drawing stufi by windiais.
We have had a fine rain, end I hope to get
some feed near the mine shortly. Tyro hun
dred and fire tons of ore have been dispatched
daring the current half-year "
MAITAWABAHGALA.—The following is from
Captain Thomas's report of April 4 :—" The
lode in No. 2 shaft has been more strongly
stained this week with green carbonates that
at any time before. This stain is passing into
the stones which compose the lode, and the
t ootwall of the lode is glittering with, stones cf
yellow copper. There are also more spots of
black and yellow copper ore at present in the
lode than at any previous time. The lode has
improved slightly this week, and the water has
increased.'''

The men at the Copper Mill Company Mine
are working on a lode of green ore, well defiaed.

lode will be properly tested. There is another
lode in the mine j consequently, should be first
mentioned not tarn out satisfactory, the othr-r
one will be tried. .
