Red Cross/^Gruild.—A most successful,
concert. and'..dance: in aid . of the iunos

■ of- tho guil d was bold.. in the School of
Arts hull: un 'Thursday, evening. The

net amount of takings was in the vicin
ity of d'15, which speaks volumes . for
die patriotic, spirit existing in the dis
trict. • Tho concert portion consisted of
items ftbnt'tho school children, assisted
by otlior _ lociil .talent; The opening
being a piuafoxto duet by'Mrs., btainea
and" Miss 'Williams,’ followed by. chorus.
sang,' “Scutlot- Blue/* led.- by Master
Reg; Leinon', the chorus children being
well , trained in - their actions in demon
strating the Red Cross Aid on tho battle
field. • Other chorus songs were, ‘’Sons
of the Sea/1' led by ‘Mr. Staines (head;
teacher), and “Wo will nail our colon*
to -the Mast,” led by Miss. Aland, and
'‘When* the Empire calls,” led by Master
Charlie Palmer. All wero well rendeietl
and much ~ appreciated. Other items
