TRANSPORT TO SYDNEY.

Brigade has earned for itself during the
.few yearn it ha# been in existence the
! reputation of being one of the moat up-to
date institutions of its kind in the Coin
! i mm wealth, if not in the whole world ;
| but few outside those who are closely as

I realise how arduous and varied are their
duties. They arc culled upon at all hours
! and under all weather conditions to
j undertake the transport of patients from all
parts of the cities in. which branches are
situated,, sometimes tramping miles over
rough roads in the dead of night with
sufferers whose lives nre^ practically de
pendent on their exercising the very
greatest care. A few days ago, however,
they accomplished what must be a record
for Australasia. A Jlrishane medical man
recommended that one of his patients
who was under treatment for a chronic
complaint should be sent to Sydney for a
special operation, The man was not lit
to travel alone, and the Ambulance Bri
gade was naked to furnish a transport.
This they did promptly, and, travelling
to Sydney by boat, delivered their charge
at the Prince Alfred Hospital none the
worse for his journey,
