"TOO MANY ROAD HOGS"
Warwick P.M. Outspoken
effect of accident policies
WARWICK, Monday.— "On country
roads many motorists charge round
corners at such a speed that they can
not keep their cars to the left-hand
side of tho rond. There arc too many,
road hogs." Mr. W. P. Wilson, P.M.,
made this statement in the summons
Court to-day. He added that, with
1 comprehensive accident policies cover-
1 ing them, motorists drive without fear
of the cost of accidents. He feared that
theso policies had caused a mental out-
' look of "it does not matter, I am
covered."
Herbert Sclke, of Warwick, had
plended guilty to a charge that, on
July 4, on the main Warwick— Too
woomba Road, being the operator of a
motor car, ho failed to keep the
vehicle as near as practicable to the
left side of the road. Senior-sergeant;
H. W. 'Scott said Selke's car failed to
take the turn near the Womina cross
ing, nnd hnd skidded nnd crashed into
another car.
Defendant was fined £2, with 0/-
costs, in default 14 days' imprisonment.
