.Roma Street Markets
BRISBANE, Thursday.
Because of d strong local demand
and shipping orders from, the North,
combined with short arrivals from
Tasmania and Sydney dining the week
values of potatoes advanced at Roma-
street to-day. The top price registered;
12/9, was for a choice line of red soil
Carmens. Deliveries were heavy and
competition throughout was keen.
Other sales tyere j made from 12/6., to
9/1. Factor seed potatoes from Kyogle
sold at 17/6, and a Dorrlgo line
brought 16/. Only two lines of pump
kins on offer sold at 3/9 and 3/6.
Moderate- supplies., of lucerne , chaff
Included h few outstanding quality
baggings. The best price received was
,7/6 and other spies were made from
.8/11. to 4/6. Wheaten hay chaff sold
at 4/3. Mlxedd chaff . brought 4/7. A
nice line of local oaten chaff sold at
5/6 while New South Wales material
passed at 6/. Lucerne hay was, in very
heavy supply.-rOne sale was made at
4/ and other lines passed from 4/6 to
3/6. Mialze was- in heavy -supply and
included some nice quality grain. Sales
were made at 3/8Jd. Wheat sold from
2/11 to 2/65d.
Brisbane Fat Stock Sales
BRISBANE, Thursday.
Following is the official report of
the fat stock soles at Cannon Hill to
day, supplied by the Brisbane Fat
Stock and Produce Brokers' Associa
tion: Cattle — A total of 2,000 was
yarded, approximately 800 bullocks and
the remainder cows. The quality was
poor, particularly . the bullocks. Most
showed the effects of the cold weather.
All sections of the trade operated
freely and values were dearer for all
descriptions. . Prime light bullock beef
realised 29/, prime heavy 25/ to 26/,
prime heifer 26/, prime light cow 25/,
prime heavy 24/ to. 25/, good medium
24/ per 100 lbs.. ...
Sheep: A total. of- 8, log was -yarded.
The quality was mixed; though a small
percentage.of prime wethers was. sub
mitted. Competition was keen. First
quality wether mutton brought 3d to
3td., heavy 3d,, medium, 25d to 2d.,-
flrst. quality, light cwe-21d to 2jd.', good
2d a lb.
MACTAQGARTS' REPORT , ,
Mhctaggarts,' Ltd., report that 2200
head of cattle were yarded at the
Cannon Hill fat stock sales to-day.
The market was firmer; Best bullocks
sold to 29/, good quality to 27/ and
prime light cows and heifers to 26/.
