Y.W.C.A. NOTES
The cricket match last Satur-
day between Weetangera boys
and Y.W.C.A. resulted in a de-
cisive win for the boys and des-
pite the cold wind many spec-
tators championed the teams.
The Barbecue and Woolshed
dance which followed was well
attended and enjoyed.
At the first annual meeting of
the Y.W.C.A. Women's Club,
Manuka, on Monday night, Mrs.
Egan was elected President, with
Mrs. Goodwin and Miss Beggs
Vice-presidents. The resume of
the club's activities since its
commencement last June, reveal-
ed a progressive and happy year.
A vote of thanks and a presenta-
tion, was made to the retiring
President, Mrs. M. Adamson, who
is leaving Canberra in the near
future.
A special meeting of the Board
of Directors next Monday night
will discuss the National Y.W.-
C.A. Convention to be Held in
Melbourne at the end of August.
Owing to the Canberra Jubilee
Celebrations, several committees
have been postponed this month,
and members are referred to
their committee notices for
change of dates.
