TO-IMGHFLS DEMONSTRATION.
The secretaryhbip of the W.A. Football
League. was further discussed, at a ineetiig
of the cxecutive council of the R.S.L. last
eveni?g.
The Secretary (Mr. Knowles) reported that
all- the sqb-branches in the metropolitan
area had been :dvised in regard to to
night's d'emonsti*tion at the Football
League rooms, and that -the organising of
a ground-demonstration for Saturday next
-if necessary--was proceeeding satisfactor
ily. As much publicity as possible was being
given to the matter.
Mr. J. Cornell. M.L.C., moved that in the
cvent of a negative 'eply being received by
the deputation this evening a special meet
ing of the executive be called for to-morrow
evening next at 7.30 o'clock. The motion
was agreed to, and it was also decided to
give the secretary full obwer to organise
matters in connection with the demonstra
tions. .
Mr. Finlay: Is it true that only one match
will be played on Saturday next?
The Secretary: I am told that is so, and
that they are 4oimg this to test the attitude
of the soldiers.
On the motion of Mr. Fihlay it was de
'cided that while the deputation was inter
viewing, the Football Leajue to-night the
omcorsof the R.S.L.'should address a meet
ing of soldiers and supporters in Welling
to-street explaining the full position.- (
