Beer Glasses
Broken As Protest
At R.M.C. Canteen
As a protest against a reduc
tion in the size of beer glasses
at the wet canteen, members of
the Headquarters Company at
the R.M.C. yesterday broke new
beer glasses.
The price of beer is stated to
have been increased recently by
a reduction in the size of glas-
ses without a proportionate re-
duction in price.
Feeling amongst users of the
canteen reached a climax at 4.30
p.m. yesterday when members
commenced breaking the glasses.
The men have requested that
the Commandant of the R.M.C.,
Major-General H. Wells, should
receive a deputation.
A member of the Headquar-
ters staff said last night that
feeling was so high that there
had oven been threats to burn
down the canteen.
