RUSSIA'S MO1T0.
'IRA'TH OR VICTORY."
A VISITING RUSSAI BREPRESSE A
TIVE.
Sydney, Jan. 21.
Dr. Mi'tkevich, representative of the Rus
sian Government, who is visiting Australia
to make inquiries regarding the poemibility
of Russia obtaining certain war supplies
here, and to try to open up negotiations
for future trade between the two countries,
was interviewed to-day regarding Germany's
peace proposals. He said Russia will not
fail. "She will go right through with this
war; through to the end. Death or vie
tory-you may say that that motto truly
exprewses the resolute spirit of the Russian
people." Asked if the recent political
changes had any great importance, Dr.
M?itkevich said that they could appear to be
mere home affairs of little significance, and
certainly not likely to interfere in the
conduct of the war or alter the national
fteling? of friendship towards the Allies.
