THREE MEN
GAOLED
FOR THEFTS
Three men were sent to gaol
by Mr. Justice Gibson in the
Criminal Court at Hobart yes-
terday.
They are Leonard Francis
Wales (38), furnaceman, of I
Surry Hills (N.S.W.), Angelo
Correicello (21), labourer, and
Ronald John Spearing (21),
both of Davey St., Hobart.
Wales pleaded guilty to a
charge of having, at Launces-
ton, in 1951, stolen £54, the
property of Thelma Victoria
Kathleen Hennessy.
The Senior Crown Prosecu-
tor (Mr. Hutchins) told the
Court that the offence was com-
mitted while Wales was board-
ing in Launceston.
He was extradited from the
Mainland to face the present
charge, said Mr. Hutchins.
Wales was sentenced to im-
prisonment for six months.
Correicello and Spearing
pleaded guilty to charges of
having, at Moonah, on October
18, broken into the shop of
Reginald Alan Rainbow and
stolen money and a fountain
pen valued together at £1/5/,
and at Glenorchy, on Octobei
16, stolen 6/ belonging tc
Daphne Longman, from a room
¡in an hotel.
Correicello was sentenced tc
imprisonment for nine months
and Spearing to imprisonmenl
for three months._
