MR. CHURCHILL
HOLIDAYING
IN S. FRANCE
LONDON, Sunday.

the South of France for a few
days rest before going to the
Berlin conference of the Big Three.
Paris radio announced that he had'
arrived at Chateau Bobdaberry, near,
Hendaye.
Mr. Churchill had an audience
with the King before he left for Bordeaux
in a four-engined American
plane which the United States recently
presented him.
He was smoking a cigar and carrying
a bag of golf clubs when a small
group of British and American officials
greeted him at Bordeaux.
The official announcement from
No. 10 Downing Street, said that the
French Government was in every
way agreeable to the visit, which was
purely of a private character.
Mr. Churchill, who was accompanied
by Mrs. Churchill, is occupy-
ing Manor House, which was lent to
him.
The French Government is taking
the necessary steps for his security.
The British Government arranged
the communications by which Mr.
Churchill will be in daily contact
with Whitehall.
