THE NEW GOVERNMENT.
MR. WILSON PREMIER AND
COLONIAL TREASURER.
MR. DAGLISH, MINISTER' FOR
WORKS.
TWO HONORARY MINISTERS.
Following upon his announcement in the
Legislative Assembly on Thursday night,
Sir Newton Moore yesterday morning
handed in his resignation as Premier of the
State to His Excellency the Governor, and
it was early known that he had advised His
Excellency to send for' Mr. Frank Wilson,
who accepted the task of forming the new
Government. Mr. Wilson immediately set
about the seltction of his colleagues in the
Cabinet, and that he had little difficulty to
face was shown by the fact that. in the
early evening the new Ministers were sworn
in. at a special meeting of the Executive
Council. In the allotment of portfolios Mr.
Wilson, as was anticipated, decided to ask
his old colleagues, Messrs. Gregory, Mit
chell, Connolly, and Nanson, to retain the
portfolios they had held in Ethe Moore
Government, while he himself chose control
of the Treasury,. thus leaving the position of
Minister for Works to be filled by the new
member of the Cabinet. Mr. Daglish was
the member of the party on whom Mr.
Wilson's choice fell for the vacant portfolio.
'In addition, following the practice in con
nection with former Administrations, the
new Premier decided to strengthen the
Government by' the appointment of two
Honorary Ministers, one in the Legislative
Council and one in the Legislative Assembly,
the positions falling to Mr. R. D. McKenzie,
M.L.C., and Mr. A. Male, M.L.A. Early
last night Mr. Wilson announced that the
composition of the new Government would
be as follows:

Frank Wison, M.L.A.
Ministed]for Mines and Railways.-Mr. H.
Gregory, M.L.A.
Minister for Lands, Agriculture, and In
dustries.-Mr. J. Mitchell, M.L.A.
Colonial Secretary.-Mr. J. D. Connolly,
M.L.C.

Minister for Works.-3Ir. H. Daglish.
Ministers without Portfolios.-Mr. R. D.
McKenzie, M.L.C., and Mr. A. Male, M.L.A.
Mr. Daglish is the only member of the
Cabinet who will have to seek re-election,
as the other Ministers with portfolios held
office in the preceding Administration, while
Messrs. McKenzid and Male have accepted
only honorary positions. Messrs. Daglish,
McKenzie, and Male were sworn in at a
special meeting of the Executive Council
held at 6 o'clock yesterday evening, and
Mr. Wilson, having exchanged the portfolio
of Minister for Works for that of Colonial
Treasurer, was re-sworn. Sir Newton Moore
was yesterday busily engaged in clearing up
the office which he has vacated, and during
the day he received a large number of let
ters and telegrams expressing regret at the
cause which had led to his retiremdnt; while
Mr. Wilson was the recipient of many
messages congratulating him on his eleva
tion to the position of, head of the Govern.
