MUNICIPAL COUNCILS.
SUBIACO.
The fnal meeting of the Sabico Mmi
cipal Council, as at present constituted, was
held in the Council Chambers last night.
There were present the Mayor (Mr. Shirley
White), and Crs. Brown, Maddison, Solomon,
Duffell, Richardson, Gray, Boas, Chesters,
Morrison, Delamare, and Searle.
Reduction of Municipal Subsidies.-A let
ter was received from the secretary of the
conference of the goldfields local bodies re
questing the Counci's co-operation in or
ganising a deputation of members of Parlia
ment to the Government to protest against
the reduction of the subsidies to local bodies
and the deduction of alleged overpayments.
The Mayor reported that the member for
the district, Mr. Daglish, M.L.A., had been
communicated with on the matter.
"Dr. Flecker Ambulance"--The patronage
of the Council was granted for a concert to
be held in the King's Hall on December 14
in aid of the "Dr. Flecker Ambulance."
Street Light Extension.-The lighting com
mittee recommended that the South Subiaco
Progress Association should be informed
that consideration of the question of extend
ing the electric light along Onslow-road has
been deferred. The recommendation was
adopted.
Electric Light--The lighting committee
reported that the increase in the number
of consumers over that of last year was 88.
The increase in the consumption of units
over last year was:-Private lighting, 10,276
units; street lighting, 3,224 units; total in
crease, 13,500 units. The units generated
during the year, excluding 14,758 purchased
from the Gas Company, totalled 164,595
units. The report was adopted.
Finance.--On the recommendation of the
finance committee the following accounts
were passed for payment:-General account,
£249 7s. 10d.; electric light account, £94 7s.
9d.; health account, £23 19s. 2d.; No. 6 loan
account, £17 12s.; deposit account, £3.
Infectious Diseases.--The health inspector
reported that for the fortnight ended No
vember 23 two cases of diphtheria and three
cases of pulmonary tuberculosis had been
reported; two of the latter were in the St.
John of God Hospital. The report was

SOUTH PERTH.
The fortnightly meeting of the South
Perth Municipal Council was held last night,
when there were present:--The Mayor (Mr.
H. M. Henning), and Crs. Bruning, Watts,
Downey, Roche, and Douglas.
Finance.-It was reported that rates total
ling £5 17s. 2d. were collected since the pre
vious meeting of the Council The follow
ing accounts were passed for payment:
General, £61 4s. 6d.; health £18 17s. ld.
Estimates.-The estimates for the forth
coming municipal year were presented. It
was anticipated that the receipts would total
