THE COTTESLOE OVERHEAD
BRIDGE.
To the Editor.
Sir,-As a resident of Cottesloe I must
heartily protest against the action of the
Roads Board in keeping the overhead bridge
closed. Can anyone tell me the cause of
the delay? The bridge has been finished
now for over four months, yet we find bobh
entrances bolted, nailed, and barred for
some iUlly idea about lights. It's about
time that whoever is in charge should get
things altered. Anyhow the residents are
going to see that business men, not child
ren, are put to manage things for them next
election. The public school will be opened
to-day with the usual procession of children
crossing and recrossing the line. Are the
local authorities waiting for some poor little
innocent to get killed? It is time that
something was done, as it is very dark at
night and the crossing dangerous. Hoping
that some abler pen than mine will take
this matter up.--Yours, etc.,
Cottesloe, April 19. RESIDENT.
