V A D Function At
Oatlands
The Oatlands branch of the VAD
raised more than £28 at a sale of gifts
.and tea stall in the Courtroom. The
function was in aid of the prisoner of
war adopted by the branch, and al-
ready the amount required for the year,
£52, has been exceeded. The takings
included donations of £1/10/ from Mr
Vernon Burbury and £1 from Mrs F.
Sturgeon. Dr H. B. Moorhead made
and donated a model barque.
The wide variety of hand-made toys
and "gifts on sale was the work of the
aids as part of their training in occu-
pational therapy.
Helpers were Mesdames J. L. Strick-
land, A_ R. Fisher, D.-Bowe, R. Geary,
C. Morgan, G. Gleadow. Misses M. Tapp,
Page, Joan Harris, Nancy Pennycuick,
and ACW Pat Strickland. Mrs A. H.
T. Dove, who displayed gifts in her
shop.before the sale, also assisted.
