ENTERTAINMEINT'S,
THEA~BE ROYAL.
"The Man from Mexico" again drew
a large attendance at the Theatre
Royal last night, and was well received.
Those who have not witnessed this
humorous production, in which Miss
Grace Palotta and Messrs. Willoughby
and Ward are seen to so much advan
tage, are advised that to-night will be
the last occasion on which the
piece will be staged. The management
state that their plans for the. future
will not permit of an extension of the
performances of the play.
To-morrow evening Messrs. Willongi
by and Ward will introduce to Perth
audiences for the first time a very re
cent London success, entitled "The
Tialk .of the Town," which is said to
have created a great impression in
Melbourne and Adelaide. "The Talk of
the Town" is like its predecessor, "The
Man from Mexico," a farcical comedy,
with more of farce than comedy about
it. The play, it is said. abounds in
ludicrous situations, and there are
smartness and humour in the dialogue,
but at no time can either words or
characters be taken seriously. The box
plan is now open at Nicholson's, and
there is said to be already a good de
mand for seats. On Thursday evening
Lady Bedford and a party from Gov
ernment House will witness the per
formance.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.
Under the direction of Mr. B. Leigh
ton, the Empire Dramatic Company are,
at His Majesty's Theatre, presenting
successfully the curtain-raiser "A Rus
sian Patriot" and the comedy "O'Cal
laghan on His Last Legs." The same
programme is promised for this even
ing.
PALACE GARDENS.
The Gaiety Entertainers continue to
present an attractive programme at the
Palace Gardens, where also the produc
tion of "Fun on the Bristol," wi*h Mr.
W. B. Warner as the Widow O'Brien,
proves a diverting entertainment.
MR. WRAGGE'S LECTURES.
To-night. at the Fremantle Town
Hall. Mr. Clement Wragge will deliver
his farewell lecture in lremantlo and
has chosen "The Majesty of Creation"
a his is subject. The lecture will be il
lustrated with reproductions of photo
graphic views. At Queen's Hall to
morrow and on Thursday evening Mr.
Wragge -ill deliver his farewell lec
tures in Perth.
THE CRYSTAL PALACE SKATING
RINK.
The rink was well patronised on Sa
turday afternoon and evening. A not
able feature of the entertainment was
the number of learners on the floor.
The floor is in a first-class condition,
and the musical accompaniment is good.
