NEW NORFOLK WINS
Third Quarter Dash Against
Bellerive
A brilliant burst in the third quarter
proved a match-winning factor for
New Norfolk In the roster match of the
Sou thorn District Association with
Bellerive at New Norfolk on Saturday.
New Norfolk won by 38 points, but the
came was moro even than the scores
indicated. It was lîellerive's first de-
feat ot the season.
New Norfolk had the advantage of
a slight breeze In the opening quarter.
Play was confined mainly to the New
Norfolk forward line. Bad kicking
prevented New. Norfolk from building
up a big lead. The wind dropped carly
in the second quarter, and Bellerive
played with more understanding than
New Norfolk. New Norfolk held a
lead of 18 points at the opening of the
third quarter, and soon after the Btart
Jf. Edwards scored a goal. Heather
and McPherson evened the score with
two goals for Bellerive, and for a
short period Bellerive had the upper
hand. After A. S. Hay got a goal for
New Norfolk thc game swung in
favour of the nomi? team. G. Pye, who
had missed a number of easy shots In
the earlier quarters, got three goals
within 10 minutes, and New Norfolk
built up a match-winning lead. Pye got
his fifth goal soon after the last quar-
ter began, and although In the final
stages the.play was slightly in favour
of Bellerive the home team was In no
danger of defeat. Scores:

rive, in the first two quarters he was
the best man on the ground. Others
