Tea Jobbers J
WE regret extremely to perceive by
our contemporary of yesterday (Sydney
Herald, that the auctioneer employed
by the Auction Company lent himself to
the perpetration of a serious fraud upon
the public.
The auctioneer pledged his honor ! ! !
that the Tea offered was to be sold without
rose; ve, which was not the case-a
reserve of £6 10s. had been laid upon it.
The Directors of the Auction Company
should remember that their honor is
pledged to the acts of their servants,
another instance such as this, will damn
the reputation of the Company.
We have been given to understand that
the Tea offered for sale, has since been
purchased by a certain house, that happens
to have a large quantity on hand,
which was purchased some time since at
a higher figure.
