A.I.F. COMFORTS
Purchase Alleged by Soldiers
MELBOURNE, Tuesday.
Two members of the A.I.F., who
have just returned from England,
said to-day that they had received
only one packet of razor blades from
the Comfort Funds since the troop
ship left Australia five months ago.
They said that a two-ounce packet
of tobacco, that they purchased, con-
tained a slip of paper bearing the
words, "A gift from the New South
Wales Comforts Fund."
Other similar complaints were also
made.
However, it was explained officially
that, if some troops have not re-
ceived the full quota of comforts, it
is because the location of the soldiers
was kept a military secret.
