=KZEG FLASHES
m Teachers' Club of the Le-
garda Elementary School held a
program over this station last
weak. It proved to be one of the
I best presentations ever given by
I aocieties over the air. For one
I thing, the program was well-bal-
| anced and the selections were
well-chosen. For another, the
performers were really talented,
I some of them being more known
| as artist-musicians than as school
teachers. There was Miss Candi-
! da Bautista, for example. Miss
Bautista had always been familiar
to'us as one of thg best pianists
the U. P. Conservatory of Music
had ever produced. We didn't
know Bhe was a schoolmsr'm un
til we saw — and heard — her per
form on the Legarda v Teacher's
dub program. And there was
Miss Agaplta Obftiguar, a local J
singer of note. She rendered Ar-
ditti's famous "II Bacio" and a
beautiful kundiman. And Tomas
I de la Rosa, another popular pian-
I ist from the Conservatory and a
| contemporary of Miss Bautista. i
| And Enrique Bautista, a violinist.
| The closing number of the pro-
: gram was a chtorus, newly com-
; posed for the occasion, which was
I sung by the members of the
Teachers' dlub.

Last Monday, November 16, be
ing a holiday, there was no stock
quotations broadcast over this sta
tion. Several telephone calls came !
at the time when this broadcast j
usually goes on the air, asking |
why it was not aired. The- most |
rabid stocks-an-radio fans had
forgotten the holiday and expected j
to hear their daily reports on the
latest conditions of the market
Which proved once again that the
L. R. Nielson broadcast is one of
the most-awaited we have over
this . station. Regularly, it is
broadcast at 6:00, p. m., just aft
er the Cocktail Hour.
