Two Detectives, Reporter Injured In
Smashup on Way to Ferguson Blaze
Detectives Basilio Castro and
Santiago Agulto of the secret serv
ice and a reporter riding in police
jitney No. 1-582, rushing to Plaza
Ferguson in response to a fire
alarm at 10:30 o'clock last night,
were injured when the jitney
crashed in a head-on collision with
automobile No. 1-1988 in front of
the Bay View hotel.
The jitney was sent rolling
against the curb, Castro who wa3
at the wheel, being thrown out
and picked up unconscious. Agul-
to's hand was out to the bone on
the back, while Yap, the reporter,
sustained a sprained leg. All the
three were rushed to the Philippine
General hospital.

when the smashup occurred. Amer
ican eyewitnesses in the vicinity
nearly fought with each other in
front of policemen in giving their !
respective versions of the accident. !
Victoria was held for investigation

Flames burst from a stove in- a
house at No. 12 interior, Plaza Fer- j
guson and which was unoccupied j
at the time. Pedestrians turned
ir the alarm which brought the
policemen rushing to the scene. 1
