PASTURE IMPROVEMENT
Keen Demand For Seed
And Machinery
I
The valuable work of pasture im- |
provement is making great strides in
the Yass district. This is evident by
the fact that Messrs. F. L. Kelly and
Company report having sold over
eleven tons of subterranian clover
and four tons of perennial rfe seed.
Two pounds per acre of subterranean
clover seed is the amount usually
sown, so a considerable area of new
country must have been treated.
There is also a large area in the district
which was laid down in previous
years. Owing to the difficulty of
harvesting on account of rains, some
seed merchants are unable to deliver
seed at the contracted time, but
local graziers are advised that immediate
delivery can be made by
Messrs. Kelly and Co. The firm also
reports having delivered hundreds of
tons of superphosphate. The sale is
reported of forty Horwaad Bagshaw
distributors, four Fordson tractors
and a quantity of machinery adaptable
for pasture renovation.
