by Miss Gillian Smith, daughter of

Gunning.
Games and music were features
of a verv pleasant
afternoon.

The candidates for the T.B. Appeal
are stiil "out on täie warpath"
and on
Saturday
last
the
three
committees. held
a
street stall
at
Gunning,' in aid of their candidates.
Mrs. F. Rudd,. Mrs. P.
Kelly
and
Mrs. Bayley
each had a stall
and
reported
good
business during the
afternoon.

During the week .a large number
of British prisoners of war and' seamen
visited Gunning
to enjoy the
hospitality of loeal residents. They
were mst at the station by the
President of the Gunning Shire
(Dr. W. M. Barbour) and other
loeal residents. Those who have
visited Gunning in the past speak
in ; gloiwng words of the unbounded
hospitality tlrey have enjoyed and
keep up correspondence with members
of the commünity who afforded
tbem the opportunity to see
something of the district.
ELECTRIC LIGHT AT RAILWAY
STATION
During the week, Mr. J. Mc-
Lauchlin, stationmaster, received an
intiniation from the Railway Comniissioners
that . the proposal to
ligtot the GunnSng railway station
with electricity has- been confirmed
and the work will be started as
soon as the necessary material is
available. The lightdng should add
