NortBicote's easy
semi-final win
Northcote were too strong for Moorabbin in the VFA
semi-final at St. Kilda today.
Moorabbin, making their debut in the Association finals,
wilted under Northcote's determination, pace and fine system.
Moorabbin players lined
up to cheer their captain-
coach, McKenzie, on to the
field. It was his 200th
game.
Northcote. had first use
of the breeze, but their
early attacks were crowded
and over-anxious.
Vains stopped several
Moorabbin thrusts. After
10 minutes, Northcote got
their first goal from a snap
by Glbbs.
Francis, leading out well,
looked dangerous, and com
bined nicely with Powell,
but Powell's shot just
missed.
Northcote had plenty of
chances, but kicked inac
curately. Glbbs' second goal
was kicked off the ground.
McKenzie came from a
half-forward flank to play
loose man on the back line,
but Gibbs marked, and got
his third. >

Northcote a good grip on
