^ Your committee has pleasure in submit
ting to you its 39th Annual Report. Since
llie last report, Vwe are pleased to say, we
have made good progress all round. .
" Our membership list last year was 310.'
This year it is 348- a very good increase,
but this is one mnttor in which a.more-'decided
advance should be .made. If every
member would exert himself to obtain new
members or call on the secretary and suggest
' tx»- hiui Jikely people whom tickets
oould be sent to, ibis method would -mater:
iallyassistin.securing more members, as we
must not forget that the Government subsidy
is 15B in the & on members' subscriptions.
Your committee is of opinion that
this association should not he contented
with less than a membership of '500, .and it
behoves every member to. work for this
object ' '•' • :.-

year. . We would suggest .that • the new
committee popularise these sections. :
" We are pleased to report that our preliminary
produce schedule was the moans of
securing a far better exhibit than bas been
shown hitherto. This exhibit was, -we feel
sure, a highly creditable one, but we think
from this district e, far better one could be

The local farm competition was keenly
competed for, 35 competitors in all, and
great interest manifested in the results,
which proved very instructive ; but-, - wo feel
sure, to make this exhibit a success from' an
educational point of view, the Department
of Agriculture should send out one of their
experts to judge this class. Mr. J. Penfold,
of Temora, put himself to considerable
inconvenience to oblige us by acting us
judge, and to him we are very much indebted.
" Horses, especially draught, were again
the feature of the show, and some of the
best horses in the State competed, which
made a splendid exhibition.
"The show gate receipts for the main
day were £186 '12s; third day £67 15s,
against £17 16s fid laBt year.-
" On account of the difficulty of getting
through the judging of the numerous exhibits
in the ring, my committee would sug*
gest that t-he first day be utilised to some
extent. This, whilst-relieying the pressure
of the last two days, would increase the
gate receipts on the first day if more attractions
were provided.
" During the year the Government hove
parried out several experiments on plots
kindly lent by Messrs. R. J. Young and F.
H. Tout. These plots can be .inspected by
any farmer who is anxious to learn the
latest up-to-date farming.
" During the year Mr. E. H. Hunt, who
for many years acted as hon. treasurer,
resigned his position owing to his transference
to Victoria.
On the eve of Tiis departure,
the members of the association tendered
him a very successful luncheon and presented
him with a valuable piece of silverware in
appreciation of services rendered. ,
