First Sheffield Shield Team
Tonight
By "Cover-Point"
On October 31 the first Sheffield
Shield cricket match for the season
will be played between" Victoria and
South Australia in Adelaide. .

and P. MacA lister) will select tho
Victorian team. Tho task is .'not - aa
ensy one, for tho selectors have only
tho performances of tho players last
season to guldo them. A strong sid.
however, is' available, and on present
form Victoria should bo capable of
retaining the Sheffield Shield. It is
always a difficult matter for a player
to obtain a placo in the Victorian
eleven, but this year "the striving for
places is keener because of the visit
of tho Englishmen.
