LONDON. December 12.— Wheat cargoes
were inactive today, with quotation! tid. to
Pd. a quarter oa.dor.
The market closed steady, however, owing to
the redurtion in the bank rate.
Barrels received little attention, at.Cd. to
I / a quarter lower. ,
December future were quoted at 48/3 a
quarter; January, 46/5). and March, 49/8.

CHICAGO, Dec. 12. — Despite a temporary set
back as the result of a weak closing market at
Liverpool, wheat prices average, 1 fractionally
higher today, with Spain and Britain conducting
active buying operations.
December wheat closed at 122 cents a bushel,
oud Marcli 129 cents.
There was little activity on the Melbourne
market today. City parcels were quoted at
5/31 a bu.-hel. ami shippers offered 5/2, on
trucks, Williamstowu.
A cablegram from Liverpool fo Mitchell, Bel-
lair umi lxes reports that there whs more pres
sure' to sell froin America ychlerduy, but the
demand was dbapiKiinting. The market was
very nervou. and disputed to respond to any
"bi-urbh" or "hullhh" feature.
