Mr Horace Washington
Harrison, the man who or-
ganised Melbourne's motor
shows and who was re-
garded as the
pioneer of
the Austra-
lian motor
indu s t r y,
died in the
Epw o r t h
Hosp i t a 1,
Rich m o n d,
today after
an illness of
three weeks.
Mr Harrip
son lived in
Alexan d ra
A v e nue,
South Yarra.
He was sec-
retary of the
Victorian
Chamber of Automotive
Industries. He founded
this organisation 40 years
ago.
He was editor and found-
er of the monthly, "Austra
lian Motorist."
In 1950, he held the old-
est driving licence in Vic-
toria.
