Demons Test
For South
Several timed thla year
South Melbourne have raided
the hopes of their patient
supporiers — they have not
won a premiership since 1933
— but they have failed to
"kick on." One of these oc
casions was when South de
feated Melbourne, last year's
premiers.
Melbourne cannot afford to
lose. They were unexpectedly
beaten by Footscray last week,
and another defeat tomorrow
could push them out. of the
four, and probably place the
coveted double chance beyond
their grasp.
However, Melbourne should
win because of their strong,
high-marking rucks, better
teamwork and greater stamina.
South's speed may worry them
early, and their hard-working
captain. Bert Lucas, will chal
lenge all-comers, but he may
lack support.
